HOW TO ORDER ...

HOW TO ORDER A FOLLOW-UP APPOINTMENT:
1. Go to the orders tab (bottom of screen on CPRS)
2. Click on the third option on the left-hand side of the screen that states Nurse/Clerk Orders
3. Click on the first option on the right-hand side of the menu that states Return to Clinic - this will automatically generate a return to clinic order for the clinic you are currently in
4. Make sure to fill in the appropriate date (T+12m for 12-month follow-up, T+3m for 3-month follow-up, etc. and use the check box “lab appointment 2 weeks prior to schedule appointment” if appropriate
5. Accept order and sign prior to the patient checking out as this order is required for the clerk to make a follow-up appointment

HOW TO ORDER LABS:
1. Go to the orders tab (bottom of screen on CPRS)
2. Click on “labs today” if the labs are to be completed today within the next 30 days or “labs future” if the labs are to be completed any more than 30 days out.
    a. For today’s labs, click all the labs from the menu that are indicated (use option 99 “Other Lab tests” if you need another lab) and sign
    b. For future labs it is best to click “labs future” then select one lab, change the “collection date/time” to the appropriate time interval (T+3m, T+6M, T+12m etc.) accept that order THEN select all of the other labs that you need and they will automatically populate with the appropriate clinically indicated date

HOW TO ORDER MEDICATIONS:
1. Go to the orders tab (bottom of screen on CPRS)
2. Then click on outpatient meds on the left-hand side of the screen
3. Type in the medication you want to order in the bar, then the ordering screen will pop up
4. Fill out the dose, route, schedule, days supply, quantity, refills and pick up method
5. Once you have reviewed this, click accept order and sign.

HOW TO RENEW A PRESCRIPTION:
1. Right click on the medication on the med list (meds tab at bottom of screen), then click renew
2. Make sure the amount and refills are correct before accepting the order

HOW TO RENEW AN EXPIRED MEDICATION:
1. Under the meds tab, select the medication then under the action  copy to new order – make sure the refills are correct and accept the order
