by Dr. A. Carbonell

If you call and speak to a patient, the way to obtain credit for your time is to make a telephone encounter, the instructions are as follows (you must create both the encounter and the note)

1. Make a New Visit (When you go to create a new note it will prompt you to select a visit, instead click New Visit and select the appropriate visit for the clinic you are working below:

    a. TPA PACT TELE IMC PCP (Internal Medicine Clinic – this is for the resident clinic)
    b. TPA PACT TELE PCA (Teamlet Name Alpha/Bravo/Charlie/Delta) PCP – this is for providers assigned to Alpha, Bravo, Charlie or Delta Clinics at the PCA
    c. LAK PACT TELE PCP – for Lakeland Providers
    d. BRO PACT TELE PCP - for Brooksville providers

2. Once you make the encounter, you can go ahead and start your New Note with the title Ambulatory Care Telephone note

3. Complete year note about whatever you discussed with the patient and sign

4. Once you go to sign your note you will be prompted to complete the Encounter Info:

    a. Assign yourself as the primary provider
    b. Diagnosis Tab: Choose the Diagnosis discussed
    c. Procedure Tab: Choose the time range that you spent speaking on the phone with the patient (this can only be done after you assign the provider) – minimum is 5 minutes

***This does not bill the patient however it will give you credit for your time
