HOW TO CREATE AND ACCESS QUICK ORDERS

FOR RETURN TO CLINIC ORDER

1. Click on Nurse/Clerk Orders
2. Click on Return to Clinic on the top right of the screen
3. It will automatically populate your clinic (or you can type in ALL CAPS the name of the clinic you want to make an order for), type in the return time (T+12M for a 12 M follow up, T+3M for a 3M f/u, etc.). Click on Prerequisites that are applicable (lab appointment 2 weeks prior to scheduled appointment is most common)
4. DO NOT SIGN, Click Options (from the tool bar) and then click “save as quick order”
5. Save as your desired title (12 month follow up, 3-month opiate follow up, etc.)

FOR VA MEDICATIONS (to be mailed to patient or picked up at VA pharmacy in Tampa at JAHVA)

1. Click on outpatient meds
2. Type med name, click on the med
3. Fill in dose, route, schedule, days supply, quantity (usually auto populates), refills, Mail, sig (if needed) – STOP HERE DON’T SIGN
4. Click Options (from the tool bar) and then click “save as quick order”
5. Type the name that you would like to use (i.e. Metformin 1000 BID, Lisinopril 20 mg, Azithromycin 5 Day Pack) and save order
These orders will automatically be at the top of your list when you click on Outpatient Meds, if you would like to change the order of your list (i.e. put the most commonly used up top), while you have the ordering screen open click on “ToolsEdit Common List” You can then change the order of the meds, rename, etc.

FOR NON-VA MEDICATIONS

1. Click on NON VA/OTC MEDS
2. Type med name, click on the med
3. Fill in dose, route, schedule, type in the “comments” box (the days supply, tablets, refills)
4. Click “VA Rx: Written for patient to obtain from outside pharmacy” in the dialogue box in the prescription directly under the comments section
5. Click Options (from the tool bar) and then click save as quick order
6. Type the name that you would like to use (i.e. Metformin 1000 BID 1 year, Lisinopril 20 mg 1 year, Azithromycin 5 Day Pack) and save order
These orders will automatically be at the top of your list when you click on NON VA/OTC MEDS, if you would like to change the order of your list (i.e. put the most commonly used up top), while you have the ordering screen open click on “ToolsEdit Common List” You can then change the order of the meds, rename, etc.

IMAGING

1. Click On imaging you want (CT, sonogram, MRI, Mammogram, etc.)
2. Fill out reason
3. For date desired, type T (for today), t+6M (6 month follow up), t+12m and so on for the date (You will very commonly have twelve-month CT scan 12-month mammogram etc.)
4. Click Options (from the tool bar) and then click save as quick order
5. Type the name (Mammo 12 months, LDCT 12 M F/U, LDCT Now Screening, etc.) and save order
Once you have all of your quick orders made for radiology, the easiest thing to do to reorder is to click on common radiology pcc, THEN OTHER RADIOLOGY EXAMS then click on the type of imaging you are ordering (CT Scan, mammo, etc.) and your common list will come up

CONSULTS

1. Click on the Consults tab and make a consult (Derm Clinic, Pharmacy for DM management, PADRO etc.)
2. Use the appropriate clinically indicated date (t+3M for DM management, t+2w for a routine consult, etc.)
3. Click Options (from the tool bar) and then click save as quick order
4. Type the appropriate name for the consult (Pharm 3 months DM, PADR vardenafil, etc.) and save
The easiest way to access your list is to click Consults MAIN CONSULT MENU and all of your pre-completed consults will be there. if you would like to change the order of your list (i.e. put the most commonly used up top), while you have the ordering screen open click on “ToolsEdit Common List” You can then change the order of the meds, rename, etc.
